A man has been killed in a collision along the Watson Highway in the vicinity of the N2 freeway.

It’s understood the bakkie the man had been travelling in collided with a taxi at around 6am today. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident however, the bakkie crashed into a street-pole after impact.

IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst says several other people are also receiving treatment. “At the moment, the guys are busy stabilising two critical patients. IPSS Medical Rescue Advance Life Support are doing advance life interventions to stabilise the two patients before transporting them to hospital. There’s an additional six patients that are also being transported,” he said.

Meanwhile, Authorities are investigating the cause of a collision in Durban last night that left 7 people hurt.

Emergency services say a taxi and a car crashed at the intersection of Sandile Thusi Road – formerly Argyle Road – and Umgeni Road at around 6h30.

Netcare911 says 1 man sustained life threatening injuries, 1 person was seriously hurt and 5 others escaped with minor injuries.
