The murder of a 46 year old Metrorail train driver, Pieter Botha, has been widely condemned. Police spokesperson, Noloyiso Rwexana, says the suspects aged 22 and 37 years old are expected to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s court on Thursday.
Rwexana says could not confirm whether the suspects are linked to a gang as it will form part of the investigation: “Detectives attached to Bishop Lavis SAPS followed up information and arrested a 22 year old suspect for the murder and illegal possession of firearm.
A 37 year old suspect was arrested after police followed up information about a firearm, that was possibly used in the murder, that was kept under a bed Plumbalo Street.”
