Two people were killed this morning when their vehicle crashed through several trees and a fence of a primary school on Durban Road in Durbanville, Cape Town.
Shortly after 4am paramedics from ER24 as well as Metro Rescue Services arrived on the scene where they found the vehicle mangled and hanging between the fence and trees on the school’s property.
Upon assessment they found that two people sustained fatal injuries. Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for the two occupants and both were declared dead on the scene. Local Metro Rescue and Fire Services stabilised the vehicle in order for paramedics to gain access.
The rescue services had to use heavy duty equipment to remove the vehicle from the property in order to ensure the area was safe before the school opened this morning. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Local authorities will conduct an investigation into the exact cause.
