In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 3am EMER-G-MED's M05 and A08 responded to the scene of a serious collision on the R55 at Marais Road in Celtisridge, Centurion.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a single vehicle had overturned, allegedly after losing control, colliding with a traffic light and pole - leaving the driver heavily entrapped and in a critical condition.
Paramedics worked to stabilise the patient, providing Advanced Life Support care - whilst the City of Tshwane Fire Department used the "jaws of life" and other specialist rescue equipment to free the patient from the vehicle.
Once extricated the patient, who sustained a serious head injury and multiple fractures, was further stabilised by EMER-G-MED Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being rushed to a nearby Trauma Hospital for further urgent care.
JMPD were on the scene to investigate the exact events leading up to the crash.
