More than fifteen people have been injured after a taxi lost control mounting the pavement and colliding with pedestrians on Point Road just after West Street around 15:10 today.
Rescue Care Paramedics responded to the scene just after 3pm today and found multiple injured patients on scene. More ambulances were called to assist with the number of injured patients.
Once all of the injured were stabilised on the scene they were transported by various ambulances to nearby hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control and crash however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
