EMER-G-MED Paramedics attended this accident scene.EMER-G-MED Emer-G-Med is an Advanced Life Support pre-hospital emergency medical service which operates in the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane, Gauteng.
At 12:05 Tuesday afternoon, EMER-G-MED dispatched multiple resources to reports of a head-on collision on the R55 closest corner Tambotie, in Blue Hills – Midrand.
On arrival paramedics found that a taxi and a bakkie had been involved, both carrying a number of passengers.
It’s alleged that the collision occurred after the bakkie’s driver lost control and rolled his vehicle, the taxi then crashed into the rolling bakkie.
On assessment it was found that a total of 12 people had been injured, two sustaining serious injuries while the rest fortunately only sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Paramedics immediately began to triage and treat the injured. The two seriously injured patients required Advanced Life Support interventions.
Once stabilised the patients were transported by EMER-G-MED and other services to various nearby medical facilities for further treatment.
JMPD were on-scene to investigate the exact cause of the collision, but it was suspected that both the vehicle’s involved were in an uroadworthy state.
