MAN SURVIVES HORROR RIDE AFTER HIS FAMILY WERE HIJACKED ON MONDAY NIGHT

Durban - A Glenwood man was taken on a horror ride after hijackers ambushed his family in their garage on Monday night.

Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said the man, as well as his wife and baby, were in the garage in the Brand Road home about to leave in their car when the hijackers approached.

"The wife managed to run to safety with their baby when she saw an armed hijacker approaching them. But the hijacker held up her husband and drove off with him inside the vehicle," he said.

Jackson said a neighbour had sounded the alarm by pressing her panic button.

"The hijackers later dropped him off unharmed near Queen Nandi Drive where the police picked him up," he said.

Jackson advised residents to be alert when arriving and leaving home. Criminals often stake out properties before striking, with prime times for hijackings being in the early mornings and evenings, he said.
