Vehicle rolls killing one and injuring another, Northern Cape.

Just after 9am this morning EMER-G-MED’s RV3, M06, M07 and A06 responded to reports of a serious head-on collision on the corner of Allandale Road and the K101, in Midrand – north of Johannesburg.

On arrival paramedics found the two badly damaged vehicles lying in the intersection. On inspection it was found that the driver of the bakkie was critically injured, and entrapped within the wreckage, having sustained serious injuries to his head and limbs.

Paramedics immediately set about stabilising the critical patient, while the Midrand Fire Department used the “jaws of life” to cut him free from the vehicle.

Once extricated the critically injured man was transported to Tembisa Hospital by EMER-G-MED paramedics under Advanced Life Support care.

The six other patients sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported by various ambulance services to a variety of nearby hospitals.

JMPD were present to investigate the events surrounding the collision.
