Vehicle goes into huge sinkhole in Rondebosch East earlier on Saturday, 20 August 2016.
Laudium Disaster Management said this happened on 2nd Avenue when the car went head-first into the sinkhole.
Ibraheem Dockrat, Head of The Disaster Management, said: “According to the driver, his car’s accelerator jammed and he lost control of the vehicle.” He also added that the man was unharmed when his car crashed into a sinkhole and that he had no passengers at the time of the incident.
The sinkhole had been there since December last year, he said.
“The road was partially cordoned off.”
