Nedbank Plattekloof Relationship Manager 

Nedbank Sub Division Cluster: Insurance


FAIS Affected: No      Location: Plattekloof

Job Purpose: To sell NGIB insurance products as well as proactively servicing and retaining NGIB Insurance clients.

Key Performance Areas:

Client Servicing:
Liaise and handle clients expansion of cover (additions, additional sections, etc...) Visit clients to discuss their needs, Present quotes, Give Instructions to Sales Support Do regular courtesy calls, Ensure FAIS compliancy of documentation; Client Retention

External Sales:
Get comprehensive leads, Visit clients to discuss their needs and risks, Get quote from Insurer via Sales Support Draft proposal of quote to client Re-visit client to propose quote Ensure FAIS compliancy of documentation Check disclosures and letter of appointment, Get supplementary documentation, example: Debit order, etc. Request Sales Support to give Instructions to Insurer

Internal Sales:
Get Leads for once off sales. Request Sales Support to request quotes. Contact client either telephonically or by fax with quote. Ensure FAIS compliancy of documentation

Handling Claims:
Problem claims resolving Client visits due to claims.

Get renewal forms from Insurer(s) and work through them Amend proposals, etc. Make appointment with client to propose renewal to client, Amend renewal as required, get quotes, etc. Request Sales Support to instruct Insurer to renew as finally agreed upon, Ensure FAIS compliancy of documentation

Financial Management:
1. Generate reports once a month: Sales reports, Leads reports, Professional Indemnity reports,

  New/ Lost business Report, Renewals report.

2. Check Sales Support's Reconciliation of commission statements

3. Loss ratio analyses, Decide appropriate changes required

4. Leads Tracker: Adhere to SLAs by Calling clients, making appointments, seeing clients, etc.

Personal development:
Identify development areas of Sales Support staff and develop them, Attend training courses/ workshops to update and enhance both product and technical knowledge.


Essential Qualifications:

Grade 12 and appropriate National Certificate in Short term insurance or a Short Term Insurance Diploma at NQF Level 5. 60 Short Term Fais credits; RE5 Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

B.Com in Risk and Insurance.
National Diploma in insurance.
