He was a dedicated member of the Crime Stop Security Services team and everywhere Lebohang Edwin Jantjie went, he made an impression as a true gentleman who you could depend on to fight crime.
But Edwin's much loved figure in his well-known Crime Stop uniform (either on foot or behind the steering wheel of a Crime Stop vehicle) will never be seen again.
It is with great sadness that Crime Stop announced this morning (March 25) that Edwin has passed away.
According to Suzanne Basson (CEO) of Crime Stop Security Services, Edwin was a diabetic and had been in Heidelberg Hospital due to diabetes related complications for the last couple of weeks.
“It seemed as if Edwin was getting much better, so it was a shock this morning when we received the news of his passing,” Suzanne said.
The 47-year-old knew the areas of Heidelberg, Ratanda and Nigel very well and everyone knew Edwin's face and respected him.
He was a man who did not stand for any unfairness.
