Three armed robbers stormed the MBT fuel station near Village Mall in the early hours on Friday and in less than a minute robbed the shop of cash and goods before fleeing.
“The three men first came into the shop shortly before 02:00 on Friday morning, posing as customers.
They left the shop and a few minutes later entered again, wearing balaclavas and waving firearms, ordering the cashier to get onto the ground,” said Romano van der Spuy, chairman of the Hartbeespoort community policing forum.
They grabbed cash from the till, cigarettes and various goods from the store and ran away.
The cashier had in the mean time pushed the panic button and PWV Security and neighbourhood watch members were on the scene within minutes.
“No one was injured and the police are investigating.”
