EMER-G-MED Paramedics attended this accident scene.EMER-G-MED Emer-G-Med is an Advanced Life Support pre-hospital emergency medical service which operates in the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane, Gauteng.
One person was killed, and several others were injured, after a head-on collision on West Street under the N1 Highway – in Centurion.
At approximately 4.30pm yesterday afternoon EMER-G-MED’s RV7 and A08 were dispatched to the scene. Paramedics arrived to find a car and a SUV, the car badly damaged after having collided in a partial head-on.
On assessment it was found that the driver of the car had sustained multiple critical injuries and showed no signs of life. Paramedics could do nothing further and declared the man dead on the scene.
Several passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries, and were transported to various nearby hospitals for further assessment.
The South African Police Service’s specialist Accident Investigation Unit were on the scene to investigate. The City of Tshwane Fire Department used the “jaws of life” to free the body of the driver from the wrecked vehicle.
