It is alleged that the victim was lying across the railway line prior to the accident.
An unidentified man was killed after he was knocked by a train in Flamingo Heights in Tongaat, yesterday afternoon.
At about 5pm, members of local security company, Reaction Unit South Africa, were dispatched to the scene after receiving several reports from the public.
When they arrived at the scene, the victim’s naked body was found stuck under the train. A report by RUSA stated that he was partially decapitated and was declared dead at scene by paramedics from a private ambulance service.
“It is alleged that the victim was lying across the railway line prior to the accident. Witnesses reported that after the victim was knocked, he was dragged approximately 150 metres before the train came to a halt,” the report concluded.
An investigation into the death is currently underway.
