Crisis Medical paramedics responded to a call for a motor vehicle collision at the Virginia Circle below Mackeurtan Avenue shortly before 20:15 this evening.
On arrival paramedics found that a Ferrari had overturned. On further investigation a male of 52 years old was found trapped inside the vehicle, while sustaining severe injuries.
Paramedics worked together to extricate the driver of the Ferrari. With the assistance of Advanced Life support paramedics, the driver successfully stabalised on scene although he is still in critical condition.
Once fully immobilised and placed on a ventilator, he was transported to hospital by Crisis Medical paramedics where he would reveive further care. According witness reports on scene, the vehicle was traveling at high speed down Mackeurtan Avenue.
The driver lost control of the vehicle just before entering the circle causing it to collide with the barrier. The vehicle rolled before coming to a stop on its roof inside the circle, leaving the driver trapped inside.
All the necessary authorities were in attendance and will be investigating the incident further.
