Dramatic CCTV footage shows the moment a driver intentionally targeted Phoenix Police officers when he run them down outside a convenience store on Tuesday morning (13 Sept 2016).
In the video you can see how the driver, 44-year-old Marc LaQuon Payne, first pulls into a parking space and switches off the headlights of the car.
Seconds later, he pulled out of the parking, came speeding through the garage and crashes into the Police Officers and through the window of the store.
You can also see in the video how one of the officers fly through the air, due to the impact. Police confirmed that it was the 33-year-old officer's first day on the job.
Two of the officers ended up in a hospital. The third officer started battling with the suspect and it took a taser to finally subdued the suspect. The suspect was arrested and is now facing attempted murder and aggravated assault charges.
Phoenix Police Chief, Joe Yahner, said: "These officers could have easily been killed and I thank God that we are not planning three funerals right now."
His sergeant was trapped underneath the vehicle with a broken leg. The car just missed another officer. He ran up and started battling with Payne, along with the rookies.
At the time of this post, the officers' names have not been released. The 41-year-old sergeant is now home with a broken leg, 33-year-old rookie officer are still in hospital with non-life threatening head injuries while 36-year-old officer sustained minor injuries after battling with the suspect.
