EASTERN CAPE: THREE PEOPLE INCLUDING A TRAFFIC COP WAS KILLED THIS AFTERNOON

Three people including a traffic cop were killed in a multi-car accident on the N2 in Mthatha today.

Traffic was backed up as the road to Tsolo has been closed. The accident happend after 4pm near the notorious Makhaphetshwini taxi stop in Ngolo village.


Villagers watched in shock as the bodies laid covered on the road. Mthatha police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said the driver of the white Volkswagen Polo travelling towards Mthatha lost control of the car while on the dangerous bend.

It then collided with a Toyota Corolla before hitting an Isizu bakkie on the side. It stopped after again colliding with a blue Peugeot.

"Two men and one woman were killed. The driver of the Polo and the driver and a passenger in the Peugeot were also killed," he said adding that the two injured were also on the Peugeot.
