FEMALE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN DURBAN M19 CRASH

At 13h51 Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit responded to a collision on the M19 near the Blair Athol off ramp.

Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle collided into a stationary vehicle, exact detail will however remain a subject for police comment.

Paramedics and the Netcare rescue unit arrived and found that a female driver had sustained serious injuries and was still trapped in the wreckage of her vehicle.

The Netcare rescue officer and firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the patient from the vehicle to allow medics to remove her after immobilising her on a trauma board.

The patient was treated at the scene before she was transported to a nearby hospital by another private service.
