Crime operation results in the arrest of four house robbers by newly graduated constables.
On Friday morning, 29 July 2016, high density police operations were launched in a number of areas where the newly appointed constables of the Western Cape were deployed to boost police visibility and address crime ahead of the month-end-weekend.
Soon after their shift started, two newly appointed constables spotted a suspicious vehicle on the N7 heading in the direction of Mooreesburg, fitting the description of a vehicle stolen during a house robbery in Bothasig on Wednesday.
The four occupants of the vehicle failed to stop after being ordered to do so, which resulted in a high speed chase which ended when they lost control of the stolen VW Polo.
They four male suspects aged between 22 and 42 were arrested for the possession of a stolen vehicle and are due in the Cape Town magistrates' court on Monday.
They will also face a charge for the possession of a housebreaking implement after a crowbar was found in the vehicle
