25 April 2016, Cape Town: A man was killed in a collision on the N2 towards Bhunga Avenue in Cape Town during the early hours of Monday morning. ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said that paramedics arrived on the scene where they found a vehicle ripped into several pieces.
Vermaak said that initially paramedics thought that several vehicles were involved in the collision until they discovered that the debris came from one vehicle. Upon assessment they found a man with fatal injuries. He was declared dead. It is believed that the vehicle collided with a concrete pillar and ripped into several pieces.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Traffic was severely backed up on the N2 while several lanes of the highway were closed off adding to traffic delays.
