KwaZulu Natal: A joint operation by the members of the Hawks, Crime Intelligence and Task Force resulted in the arrest of another most wanted and dangerous suspect in the province on Wednesday night.
The 33-year-old suspect who was wanted for a series of cases in KwaZulu-Natal was nabbed at Morningside, Durban. He was found in possession of one AK47 with three magazines and 93 live rounds of ammunition; one 9mm pistol and one .38 special. The man has been positively linked to the murder of a 51-year-old police at Gingindlovu in November 2015.
He will also be charged for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to ascertain if they were used in the commission of crime in the country.
The suspects will appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 18 July 2016.
