FRIDAY NIGHT CRASH ON ALBERTINA SISULU ROAD IN ROODEPOORT LEAVES 16 PEOPLE INJURED


At 22h30 on Friday night Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit responded to a collision along Albertina Sisulu Road in Roodepoort. Reports from the scene indicate that the taxi and a 4X4 collided.


Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events however will form part of the South African Police investigation.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that sixteen people sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor with some still trapped in the twisted frames of the vehicles.



The Netcare 911 rescue officer and the Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free four patients from the wreckage while medics worked tirelessly to stabilise a total of sixteen wounded.

Paramedics from various services transported the injured to hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
