ER24 is an Emergency Medical Service providing efficient, effective emergency response and pre-hospital care.
A 47-year-old man was airlifted from the N14 highway in Muldersdrift after his vehicle crashed through the centre median and into oncoming traffic.
Shortly before 3pm paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the man’s Toyota Hilux between trees on the opposite side of the highway.
Two other vehicles with damage were also found on the side of the road.
It is understood that the man might have experienced a medical emergency and lost control over his vehicle. He crashed through the centre median of the N14 near Beyers Naude and collided with two vehicles traveling towards Pretoria on the highway.
Bystanders on the scene explained that they rushed over to the man in the vehicle and found that he was blue in the face. They managed to get him out of the vehicle and provided basic first aid.
Paramedics requested the assistance of an emergency medical helicopter to airlift him to Milpark Hospital for further care.
No one else was injured in this collision. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Mogale City Traffic attended the scene.
